From Kazakhstan, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates nonstop flights only on the Almaty – Abu Dhabi route, four times a week. From Abu Dhabi it flies to Tbilisi, Baku, Yerevan and Tashkent, as well as to cities in Egypt, India and Pakistan. The schedule changes by season, and current flights show up in the Freedom Travel search.

Every fare allows a cabin bag of up to 7 kg and no larger than 55×40×20 cm, plus a personal item of up to 3 kg and 25×33×20 cm. Checked baggage is included in Value (20 kg) and Ultimate (30 kg), while on Basic it has to be bought separately. You can choose 20, 30 or 40 kg: 20 kg is one piece, and 30 or 40 kg can be split into up to two pieces of no more than 32 kg each.

Online check-in on the Air Arabia website and app starts 48 hours before departure. Passengers without checked bags can go straight to boarding with their boarding pass, while bags are dropped at a dedicated counter. Some airports do not accept online boarding passes, so they have to be exchanged at the check-in desk, which closes 1 hour before departure.

It depends on the fare. Basic is non-refundable: if you cancel, the amount minus a fee stays as credit for one year for the same passenger. Value can be cancelled up to 24 hours before departure and Ultimate up to 8 hours, and refunds to the card carry a fee in both cases. After a no-show only government taxes can be claimed. On Basic, food is paid for: meals and drinks are bought on board from the Sky Café menu or ordered in advance. Value includes a sandwich and water, and Ultimate a hot meal and water. Pre-orders on the website and app close 12 hours before departure, and the pre-order menu is wider than what is sold on board.

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is a separate airline of the Air Arabia group with its own code, 3L, and its base in Abu Dhabi. Air Arabia flies under the G9 code from Sharjah, including to Almaty, so check the arrival airport when booking. The two airlines share the website, app, fares and the AirRewards programme. Etihad Airways is one of the owners of Air Arabia Abu Dhabi but flies under its own EY code and rules.
