Eastar Jet is a South Korean low-cost airline founded in 2007. Most of its international flights leave from Seoul's Incheon Airport, others from Busan and other Korean cities, and the network covers about 30 destinations in East, Southeast and Central Asia. The fleet has more than 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. From Kazakhstan, Eastar Jet runs seasonal flights from Almaty to Seoul and Busan: under the 2026 schedule, twice a week from April (Seoul) and May (Busan) until late October.

  • Baggage allowance

    Cabin baggage is one piece up to 10 kg with a total of 115 cm in three dimensions (50×30×35 cm). On international flights, discount and regular fares include 15 kg of checked baggage, while special fares include none. One bag may weigh up to 32 kg.

  • Flight check-in

    Online check-in for international flights opens 24 hours and closes 1 hour 30 minutes before departure. It is not available for flights from Almaty, where you check in at the airport. Bags for international flights must be dropped off at least 1 hour before departure.

  • Changes and refunds

    Change and refund fees depend on the fare and on how many days are left before departure: they are higher on special fares and lower on regular ones. A no-show is penalised, while taxes on an unused ticket are refunded. Exact terms are in the fare rules.

  • Meals on board

    Only water is free on board. A meal for an international flight can be pre-ordered for a fee at least 72 hours before departure, and the menu includes halal noodles and a semi-vegetarian pasta. Snacks and drinks are sold on board.

  • Eastar Jet fares

    All seats on Eastar Jet aircraft are economy class. There are three fares: special, with no free checked baggage, and discount and regular, which include 15 kg. Change and refund fees are lower on the regular fare than on the others.

  • Mobile app

    The EastarJet app for iOS lets you search for and buy tickets, check in online and add your ticket to Apple Wallet. It shows how busy the airport check-in counters are, works in airplane mode and is available in English.

  • From Kazakhstan, Eastar Jet flies seasonally from Almaty to Seoul (Incheon) and Busan. From Seoul it serves Tokyo (Narita), Bangkok, Hong Kong and Nha Trang, and its whole network has about 30 destinations. The schedule changes by season, and current flights show up in the Freedom Travel search.

  • Enter the cities, the date and the number of passengers in the search form, pick an Eastar Jet flight among the results and pay online. The ticket arrives at the email address you give at checkout.

  • Cabin baggage is one piece up to 10 kg, with length, width and height adding up to no more than 115 cm (50×30×35 cm). On international flights, discount and regular fares include 15 kg of checked baggage; special fares include none, but baggage can be bought. One bag may not weigh more than 32 kg or exceed 203 cm in total dimensions. Extra baggage must be bought at least 24 hours before departure.

  • No, online check-in is not available for flights departing from Almaty: you check in at the airport and must drop off your bags at least 1 hour before departure. On other international flights, online check-in on the website and app opens 24 hours and closes 1 hour 30 minutes before departure. It is also unavailable for flights from Vietnam and China.

  • Yes, but for a fee that depends on the fare (special, discount or regular) and on how close the departure is: the closer the flight, the higher the fee. A no-show is penalised, and if you miss the outbound flight, the return flight is cancelled automatically. Taxes on an unused ticket are refunded.   • Only water is free on board. Meals for international flights are pre-ordered for a fee in the seat, meal and baggage section of the airline's website or via the call centre, at least 72 hours before departure. The menu includes bulgogi with rice, bibimbap, sandwiches, halal noodles and a semi-vegetarian pasta. Snacks and drinks can be bought on board.

  • Eastar Jet's flights from Almaty are seasonal. The airline has flown to Seoul since April 2025, but there were no flights in winter 2025/26, and in 2026 they resumed on 7 April. Flights to Busan began on 1 May 2026. In 2026 both routes operated until late October, and according to schedules as of mid-October 2026 they are not planned for winter 2026/27. In winter, Air Astana flies nonstop from Almaty to Seoul.

  • The Eastar Jet website does not list an office or a phone number in Kazakhstan. The airline's service line is 1544-0080, a Korean number open daily from 9:00 to 18:00 Korean time (5:00 to 14:00 Kazakhstan time). The website also has a chat: a chatbot answers around the clock, and staff reply on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00 Korean time.
