From Kazakhstan, Loong Air flies only from Almaty, with daily flights to Hangzhou, where the airline is based. From Hangzhou, Loong Air flies to cities such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou. The schedule changes by season, and current flights show up in the Freedom Travel search.

Enter the cities, the date and the number of passengers in the search form, pick a Loong Air flight among the results and pay online. The ticket arrives at the email address you give at checkout.

Loong Air's free baggage allowance depends on the fare and the route. You can see it when you choose a fare at booking, and after purchase it is shown on your itinerary receipt. If you need more, extra baggage can be prepaid on the airline's website or in its app. It is also worth checking the cabin baggage rules before you travel.

The Loong Air website and app offer online check-in with seat selection. Whether it is available for a particular international flight becomes clear when you try to check in, so it is best to check early. At Hangzhou airport, check-in desks for international flights usually close 50 minutes before departure, so allow plenty of time.

It depends on the fare: the fare rules say whether you can change the date or get a refund and whether a fee is charged. Tickets bought directly from Loong Air are changed and refunded on the airline's website or in its app. For tickets bought on Freedom Travel, use the Refund or exchange section of the website.

Flight GJ8218 from Almaty to Hangzhou takes about 5 hours 50 minutes: it leaves late in the evening and lands the next morning, local time. The return flight GJ8217 takes 6 hours 25 minutes to 6 hours 50 minutes and arrives in Almaty the same evening. Hangzhou is 3 hours ahead of Almaty.

Since 10 November 2023, citizens of Kazakhstan can visit China without a visa for up to 30 consecutive days per trip and no more than 90 days in half a year. A longer stay requires a visa obtained in advance. Passengers with passports of other countries should check the entry rules for China separately.
