Vietjet Qazaqstan is the brand of the Kazakh airline Qazaq Air JSC, founded in 2015. Its privatisation was completed in May 2025: Samruk-Kazyna and Central Asia Aviation Holdings, part of Vietnam's Sovico Group, Vietjet's main shareholder, each hold 49%, and Kazasia Holdings holds 2%. The airline is based in Astana, and its whole network is built around this hub. It flies Dash 8-400 turboprops to Almaty, Aktobe, Kostanay, Kyzylorda and other Kazakh cities, as well as to Bishkek, Samarkand, Novosibirsk and Omsk.

  • Baggage allowance

    Cabin baggage is one piece up to 56×36×23 cm: up to 7 kg, or 10 kg on SkyBoss. Checked baggage costs extra on Eco, Deluxe includes one piece up to 23 kg, SkyBoss two 23 kg pieces plus sports equipment, and the subsidised fare 20 kg.

  • Flight check-in

    You can check in online on the airline's website or at the airport check-in desk. Vietjet Qazaqstan moved to a new booking system in November 2025, and online check-in has been fully available again since February 2026.

  • Changes and refunds

    On Eco, changes cost a fee plus any fare difference, and refunds are not allowed. Deluxe allows free changes (you pay only the fare difference) and refunds minus a fee. SkyBoss offers free changes and full refunds, and the subsidised fare has no change or refund fees.

  • Meals on board

    Meals on Vietjet Qazaqstan flights are paid: under the fare rules, they are not included in the ticket price on Eco, Deluxe, SkyBoss or the subsidised fare. Food and drinks on board are paid for separately.

  • IQ Bonus programme

    IQ Bonus members earn bonuses on tickets: under the fare rules, Eco and Deluxe earn 2% and SkyBoss earns 3%, while the subsidised fare earns none. You can join the programme on the airline's website.

  • Manage booking

    In My bookings on the Vietjet Qazaqstan website you can find your booking, choose a seat and add baggage. The site also shows flight status, and the add-on services section lists services for children, pets and sports equipment.

  • Vietjet Qazaqstan flies from Astana to cities across Kazakhstan and to neighbouring countries. Its nonstop routes include Astana–Almaty, Astana–Kostanay, Astana–Aktobe, Astana–Bishkek and Astana–Novosibirsk.   • No, meals are not included on Vietjet Qazaqstan flights: under the fare rules, food on board is paid on every fare, including Eco, Deluxe, SkyBoss and the subsidised fare. Food and drinks are paid for separately. You can check with the airline what is offered on your flight.

  • Yes. Vietjet Qazaqstan is the trademark of Qazaq Air JSC: the carrier is the same, and flights still use the IQ code. The new brand and a strategic partnership with Vietnam's Vietjet were announced on 6 May 2025, when the privatisation was also completed. The shareholders are Samruk-Kazyna (49%), Central Asia Aviation Holdings of the Sovico Group (49%) and Kazasia Holdings (2%).
