The airline at a glance

Important information

  • Baggage allowance

Only an under-seat bag up to 40×30×20 cm and 10 kg can be taken on board for free. A 55×40×23 cm cabin bag up to 10 kg needs WIZZ Priority. Checked bags of 10, 20, 26 or 32 kg are bought separately, up to 6 per passenger.

  • Flight check-in

Online check-in is free: with a paid seat it opens 30 days before departure, without one 24 hours before, and it closes 3 hours before the flight. Airport check-in is paid unless your bundle includes it; desks open 2 hours and close 40 minutes before departure.

  • Changes and refunds

A flight can be changed or cancelled in your WIZZ Account up to 3 hours before departure. Without WIZZ Flex a fee applies and the rest is refunded as WIZZ credits. With WIZZ Flex there is no fee, but refunds also come as credits that cannot be turned into cash.

  • Meals on board

Meals on Wizz Air are paid: food, snacks and drinks are sold on board at WIZZ Café. Since 1 April 2025 cash is not accepted, only Visa and Mastercard cards and contactless payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  • WIZZ fare bundles

Basic includes only the free under-seat bag. WIZZ Go adds a 20 kg checked bag, seat selection and free airport check-in, WIZZ Smart adds WIZZ Priority and priority boarding, and WIZZ Plus adds a 32 kg bag, WIZZ Priority, WIZZ Flex and premium seat selection.

  • Mobile app

The Wizz Air app for iOS, Android and Huawei lets you buy tickets, check in, store your documents and open your boarding pass offline. You can also add bags and seats and get updates on flight status and gate changes.

  • Wizz Air has no nonstop flights from Kazakhstan. From Kutaisi, which has flights from Aktau and Atyrau, Wizz Air flies to Budapest, Rome and Barcelona, and from Budapest to London and Tel Aviv. The schedule changes by season, and current flights show up in the Freedom Travel search.

  • Enter the cities, the date and the number of passengers in the search form, pick a Wizz Air flight among the results and pay online. The ticket arrives at the email address you give at checkout.

  • You can take one free bag up to 40×30×20 cm and 10 kg, and it must fit under the seat in front of you. A 55×40×23 cm cabin bag up to 10 kg is allowed only with WIZZ Priority, which is included in the WIZZ Smart and WIZZ Plus bundles. Checked bags of 10, 20, 26 or 32 kg can be added when booking or later, and buying them at the airport costs extra.

  • If you have paid for a seat, online check-in on the website or app opens 30 days before departure, otherwise 24 hours before, and it closes 3 hours before the flight. Online check-in is free, while airport check-in is paid unless your bundle includes it. Check-in and bag drop desks usually open 2 hours and close 40 minutes before departure.

  • A booking can be changed or cancelled in your WIZZ Account up to 3 hours before departure. Without WIZZ Flex a fee applies, and after a cancellation the rest is refunded as WIZZ credits. With WIZZ Flex there is no fee, but refunds also come as credits that cannot be turned into cash. If the ticket was bought through an agency, Wizz Air may refund the money to the agency. For tickets bought on Freedom Travel, use the Refund or exchange section of the website.

  • There are no free meals on Wizz Air flights: food, snacks and drinks are bought on board at WIZZ Café. Since 1 April 2025 cash is not accepted on board, and you can pay with Visa and Mastercard cards, including through Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Prepaid cards, Visa Electron and Maestro are not accepted.

  • Not at the moment, and the winter 2026/27 schedule has no such flights either. Almaty, Astana and Turkistan used to be served by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a group airline based in Abu Dhabi, but in 2025 Wizz Air closed that base and the flights ended. Travellers now connect to Wizz Air in other cities, for example in Kutaisi, which has flights from Aktau and Atyrau.

  • The virtual assistant Amelia answers questions about bookings, baggage and flight status around the clock in the chat on the Wizz Air website. The call centre number is chosen by country and language in the Contact us section, and claims and refund requests are sent through the online form on the airline's website.
